Founder & Principal Consultant, Wally Daniel
Wally is a plant biologist, soil scientist, and cannabis industry veteran with over 14 years of commercial cultivation and consulting experience. Known for his dependable, down-to-earth approach, he blends science-driven insights with practical, real-world strategies. Wally leads every client engagement personally, ensuring technical expertise is matched with a trusted advisor relationship.

Wally’s unique experience and professional development set him apart as an interdisciplinary leader and systems thinker. A fully proficient lab and field scientist, he’s also had expert training in horticulture, CEA and Lean manufacturing. He has over 14 years experience cultivating Cannabis at multiple commercial-scale farms and facilities. He’s operated and advised on a multitude of cultivation methodologies ranging from precision chemistry hydroponics to hybrid conventional / organic soilless media models to raised bed ‘living soil’ and NOP-compliant modified row cropping systems.
Wally is a trained scientist supporting seasoned experience in biology, botany, biogeochemistry, horticulture and crop science. He earned his B.S. in Biology from the College of Charleston where he was one of five recipients of Departmental Honors. He studied biogeochemistry of soils, groundwater and seas at Stony Brook University, where he earned his M.S. researching seasonal trace mineral cycling.
Wally prides himself in being personable, approachable and savvy with ‘the numbers’. His myriad experiences fuel his convictions to make data-driven decisions, set realistic financial expectations – and build trust. He’s a ‘get-it-done’ type of person, but with a high standard of quality and moral aptitude. In Wally’s opinion, the success of any project – or relationship – is predicated on building credibility with consistency and continuity of action – and communication.

Haley brings extensive experience in botanical product formulation, laboratory science, and quality systems design. Her work ensures clients have reliable processes that meet both operational needs and regulatory standards.

Haley Poole’s career path and professional development set her apart as a distinguished consultant. She has over 12 years relevant experience in the fields of specialty crop operations and commercial manufacturing management and derivative product innovation. Along the way, she’s gained advanced certifications and training from organizations such as the American Herbal Products Association, American Herbal Pharmacopeia, Bedrocan and Americans for Safe Access. Haley is highly proficient in all aspects from seed to sale in the medicinal, recreational and hemp Cannabis industry.
Haley is a trained scientist with exceptional expertise in applied chemistry and analytical lab practices. A B.S. in Science from Portland State University serves as the bedrock of her hard sciences rigor, where she focused intently on Chemistry and Biology. Additionally, she’s earned a 600-hour Herbal Medicine Program Certificate from the New Mexico College of Natural Healing and a Certificate in Outdoor Leadership from the University of Alaska.

Botanical Extraction & Process Engineering
Daniel is an environmental engineer with extensive experience in botanical extraction and process optimization. A co-founder of Aptia Engineering, he helped grow the company into a multimillion-dollar leader in processing equipment design and manufacturing. He now provides consulting, equipment sourcing and evaluation, systems auditing, and commissioning support, always combining technical precision with personable client care.
Daniel Shelton
Daniel Shelton has an Environmental Engineering degree from Oregon State University. After graduation, he co-founded and managed Aptia Engineering, which designs and manufactures cutting edge processing equipment and provides engineering process support for the botanical extraction, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and solvent recycling industries.
His passion for process improvement and focus on supporting clients were instrumental in growing Aptia Engineering into a multiple million-dollar a year company. He successfully exited from Aptia in late 2021 and has remained active in the processing space by providing consulting; equipment sourcing, evaluations and systems auditing; and occasional project commissioning.
Daniel’s level of professionalism is unparalleled. His expertise includes all facets of commercial, high efficiency, variable throughput botanical extraction. For the engineering world, he’s a rare combination of socially confident and scientifically sound. He’s worked on scores of projects, delivering high quality equipment, SOPs, process optimization and pro tem Staff Engineer services.
